Mother Nature Impacts First 2 Events.

Our season opener was postponed because of rain and high winds, the safety of our participants was the number 1 priority.  Still Mokan hosted a fine event with a large number of participants.  Carl and his crew did a great job making everyone feel welcome and ran a great event.  We had a first, George Collinge, Fort Scott, Kansas is the first participant to win Electronics and No-electronics at a single event.  Not only did he win 2 races, but the car that he had built and sold won Best of Show for the Mopar car show.  This is a milestone that will go down in the history book of the Mopar point Series.

We march on to our next event.  The day started out very early so participants could travel to Centerville Dragway.  The weather forecast wasn’t great but when we arrived it promised to be a great day.  Then after time runs and the car show judged and trophies presented, Mother Nature decided to cut our day very short.  Tree limbs breaking, canopies coming down, trees coming out of the ground by the roots, rain downpour and a tornado 5 minutes from the track, we called it a day.

With the high cost of fuel we have a need for a rain out rule.  Here it is:

Rain Out Rule:

If an event has started and it gets rained out, the participants on the property will receive the 10 show up points.  Racers will receive 3 rounds of competition points equaling 15 points (for a total of 25 points).  Car show participants (if judging has not been completed ) will receive one competition point (for a total of 11 points).

We wish to thank everyone who made the trip to Centerville, it was a rough day.  Under the circumstances, Ozark Mopar Club and the Centerville Crew did a fine job and we want to thank you for hosting the event.

Our first two events are in the can so to speak and are now heading toward Woods Bros Raceway on August 10th in Sallisaw Oklahoma.  Information will be posted on this site as soon as I get all the particulars about their event.
